HSK and HSKK: Chinese speaking practice for study and scholarships

HSK tests reading, listening and writing; HSKK is a separate speaking test. Many universities and scholarships ask for both. This program goes from introducing yourself and dormitory life to giving opinions with the HSK 4 structure and answering scholarship interviews.

Every line comes with tone-marked pinyin, Chinese characters and a translation in your language. The last unit is an HSKK Intermediate mock test.

Framework: HSK 3.0 (9 levels) · HSKK speaking. Target: HSK 4 · HSKK Intermediate. Mock test criteria: Task completion and content, Vocabulary and grammar, Fluency, Pronunciation and tones.

  1. 1Self-introduction (自我介绍)Introduce yourself to teachers and classmates: name, hometown, major, why you study Chinese.Model sentence: 我是越南留学生。 (Wǒ shì Yuènán liúxuéshēng.): I'm an international student from Vietnam.
  2. 2Campus and dormitory lifeEnrol, ask about the dormitory, choose courses, open a bank card, see the campus doctor.Model sentence: 我想办入学手续。 (Wǒ xiǎng bàn rùxué shǒuxù.): I'd like to complete my enrolment.
  3. 3Giving opinions (HSK 4)Speak for 1 minute on an issue: opinion → 2 reasons → example → conclusion, with HSK 4 linking words.Model sentence: 我认为…… (Wǒ rènwéi……): I believe that…

About the exam and the program

  • HSKK Intermediate has 3 parts: listen and repeat (10 items), describe pictures (2 items), answer questions (2 items).
  • It takes about 21 minutes, including 10 minutes of preparation; it is scored out of 100, with 60 to pass.

How is this different from the Chinese scenes in the MOMIC town?

The town has 25 Chinese work scenes (QC meetings, signing contracts, construction sites). The HSK–HSKK program follows the exam framework and the needs of students going to China.
